New Encaustic-Just Started
Here is my latest painting. I've decided that for my thesis work that I will concentrate on using encaustic. I've also moved into large format to be able to do this. This one is of three figures, only two are really visible at this point. I have a bit of work on them yet but so far it is going REALLY well considering I don't know exactly what I am doing. The models are Jordan, Esther and Esther and I am thinking of calling this painting 'The Three Fates'. Right now I am researching a bit more on that end of it. As well I am reading up on Orientalism. So much to do in getting ready for my thesis paper. I'll keep posting this one as I work on it. I want it finished for midterm. Tomorrow I leave for London so I won't be posting updates for at least 10 days.

A taste of Rome
I took almost 400 pictures in 3 days in Rome. I have many to go through to pick out the best. So today I am just posting a couple as a teaser. I would love to live in either Rome or Venice at some point. There is something about both of those cities that is just indescribable. Peter is always saying that to see Rome properly that you need at least 30 days. I would like to have that chance at some point.
Most of these pictures are people shots except I am sneaking in one of the breathtaking Colosseum. A couple of me, which Linda took while we were in the ruins, the oldest part of Rome. I thought I should get a picture of me in this glorious setting. Then there is the one of carmine and April...a beautiful fun shot of the two of them. Finally there is this really nice one of Michéle (our professor) and Miranda (her daughter), af=gain agaisn the backdrop of Romes ruins.
