The Green Door

I like taking pictures of the old doors......many to be found in Italy so far. Maybe at the end of this trip I'll have a nice little collection going.

My Latest Painting

My roomate Linda posed for this one. I've been buying different masks to use in my work along with make-up. This one is the first of that series. I'm also working in wax and small pieces in silver point. I'll post some pictures of those soon~ish.

Moi in Venice

Hanging out with Linda I seem to be getting more pictures of myself. I'm not all that sure that is a good thing but I'll be glad to have them when I look back.

The Girl Band

Shannon our lead singer, I play guitar, Lindsay plays bass and Erin is our moody drummer.

High Tide

Since there was so much rain while we were in Venice, we were lucky enough to experience what the Venetian call high tide. Basically the water rising and spilling over into the city streets. It was bad while we were there really. According to Peter aour art history prof, a couple of times a year it can be more than waist deep. Linda and I bought rain boots the day before so we got to walk through it while everyone else waited in slow moving lines on the wood platforms gopng into St. Marks.

Skies and Canals in Venice

I I could spend a lot of time posting pictures of Venice. It was so beautiful there. I will definitely go back, hopefully sooner than later. Although it rained for the majority of the time we were there it was still beautiful. The waterways and transportation around the city is amazing, no cars at all, only boats. I am happy to have gotten a few good sky shots.

Pigeons in Venice

We went to Venice during the first week in October. One afternoon Linda and I were walking around St Marks church and I thought that I should get some touristy photos of the hordes of pigeons hang around and how they land on all the people. It tokk me awhile to gather the concept that the pigeons didn't just randomly land on rest on the tourist but that the tourists would be holding food in their hands as a way to get them to come to them. DUH! At first I folled two little boys around because the pigons were all over them and it wasn't until one of the little boys came over and gave me some bird food that I clued in. Here's the result....
