High Tide

Since there was so much rain while we were in Venice, we were lucky enough to experience what the Venetian call high tide. Basically the water rising and spilling over into the city streets. It was bad while we were there really. According to Peter aour art history prof, a couple of times a year it can be more than waist deep. Linda and I bought rain boots the day before so we got to walk through it while everyone else waited in slow moving lines on the wood platforms gopng into St. Marks.
